What is tallow?
Tallow is a pure, nutrient-rich fat from grass-fed and finished sources. Ours is slowly rendered and purified three times. Its fats are a lot like your skin's own oils.
Does tallow have a scent?
Barely. Our tallow is purified three times, so it has almost no scent of its own. Choose Unscented for the purest option, or lavender, frankincense or lemongrass for a soft natural scent.
Will it feel greasy?
Use less than you think, less than a pea-size amount for your whole face, and rub it into slightly damp skin. It absorbs quickly.
Is it okay for sensitive skin?
Many people with dry, easily irritated skin love it. Choose Unscented and patch test on your inner arm first. For a skin condition, check with your dermatologist.
Which size should I choose?
For your face only, a 2 oz lasts about two months. For face and body, a 4 oz lasts about a month. The 8 oz is the best value for the whole family. The 4 oz and 8 oz include a free wooden spoon.
What does the golden drop in your logo mean?
It's a single drop of pure, melted tallow, the moment it melts on contact with your skin. It's never water: there isn't a drop of water in anything we make, so there's nothing to dilute it and nothing that needs the preservatives water-based lotions rely on. And because a little goes a long way, one drop is all it takes.
Fridge or counter?
Either. Keep it on the counter for a softer balm or in the fridge for a firmer one. Tallow naturally softens in summer heat and firms up in the cold, which doesn't change how it works. Use a clean spoon and enjoy it within a year.

What if my jar arrives soft or melted?
Tallow is a natural fat with no stabilizers, so it can soften or melt in a hot mailbox or truck, especially in summer. It isn't damaged and works exactly the same. Set it in the fridge for 20 to 30 minutes until firm, then keep it somewhere cool and dry. A jar that fully melted may set smoother instead of fluffy, and that's normal.
