Our Whipped Tallow Face & Body Cream is the jar I make most in my kitchen in Tomball, Texas. Grass-fed and finished tallow is slowly rendered, purified three times, then whipped with cold-pressed jojoba oil until it's light and fluffy. It melts the second it touches warm skin and leaves it soft, comfortable and glowing, without a long list of ingredients you can't pronounce.

Ingredients

Grass-fed and finished tallow (purified 3×), cold-pressed jojoba oil, and pure essential oil (lavender, frankincense or lemongrass; none in Unscented).

How to use

Scoop less than a pea-size amount with clean, dry fingers or a clean spoon and rub it right onto clean, slightly damp skin, morning and night. No need to warm it first; it melts on contact and absorbs quickly. Use a little more on hands, elbows and heels. If your skin is sensitive, patch test first on your inner arm and choose Unscented. Keep water out of the jar. Keep it on the counter for a softer balm or in the fridge for a firmer one; it's best used within a year.

Arrived soft or melted? Tallow is a natural fat with no stabilizers, so it can soften or melt in a hot mailbox or delivery truck, especially in summer. It isn't damaged and works exactly the same. Set the jar in the fridge for 20 to 30 minutes, or until firm, then keep it somewhere cool and dry, away from direct sun. A jar that fully melted may set smoother and denser instead of fluffy; that's normal.

Good to know

Handmade in small batches and poured into amber glass that's easy to reuse. Natural products can vary a little in color and texture from batch to batch.
